물건이란, 사용함에 본질이 있다. 하지만 사용하지 않을때에는 적지 않은 자리를 차지하는 조형물이며 장식품의 성격을 지닌다. 또한 그 물건은 소유자의 성격을 보여주기에, 공예는 오랜 시간에 걸쳐 하나의 예술로 받아들여졌고, 디자인이라는 발명을 일궈 내기도 하였다. 오브젝트 루시의 작업물은 복잡한 구조로 보일 수 있지만, 모든 조형을 이루는 요소는 대칭의 기본 도형으로 이루어져 있으며, 역할이 없는 순수 장식의 형상은 존재하지 않는다. 표면처리 또한 재료 그대로의 자연스러운 질감을 선호한다. 최소한의 조형 언어로 최적의 조형을 형성하는 과정을 탐구하는 오브젝트 루시만의 취향이 담겨 있으며, 이것이 오브젝트 루시의 주요한 디자인 언어 중 하나 이다. 미시적인 세계에서 형성되는 단순한 구조의 반복이 그 조형의 조화를 통해 거시적 세계에서는 매우 복잡하고 현란해 보일 수 있다. 보편적인 정의는 어떤 세상에서 바라보느냐에 따라 전혀 다른 선상에 있을 수도 혹은, 공존할 수도 있는 것이다. 즉, 바라보는 이에 따라서, 바라보는 때에 따라서 다르게 정의 될 수 있음을 시사한다. 오브젝트 루시는 그러한 정의를 넘어 오브젝트 루시만의 철학을 담아내어 생존해내고자 한다. 오브젝트 루시의 오리지널 시리즈는 조형적 철학을 찾아 헤매는 일련의 과정으로써, 시각적, 촉각적 즐거움 그리고 부족함 없는 기능 그 간의 최적점을 추구한다. 이번 작업물을 통해 오브젝트 루시만의 정체성, 그 시작을 알리고자 한다.
The essence of an object lies in its use. However, when not in use, it is a sculpture that takes up quite a bit of space and has the character of an ornament. Additionally, because the object shows the personality of the owner, crafts were accepted as an art over a long period of time, and even gave rise to the invention of design. Object Leuci's form may appear to have a complex structure, but all formative elements are made up of symmetrical basic shapes, and there are no purely decorative shapes without a role. Surface treatment also favors the natural texture of the material. It contains Object Leuci's unique taste of exploring the process of forming optimal form with a minimal formative language, and this is one of Object Leuci's main design languages. The repetition of simple structures formed in the microscopic world can appear very complex in the macroscopic world through the harmony of their shapes. Universal justice can exist on completely different lines or coexist depending on which world you look at it from. In other words, it suggests that it can be defined differently depending on who is looking at it and when it is looking at it. Object Leuci seeks to survive by going beyond such definitions and embodying its own philosophy. Object Leuci's original series is a series of processes in search of formative philosophy, pursuing the optimal point between visual and tactile enjoyment and ample functionality. Through this work, I would like to announce Object Leuci’s unique identity and its beginning.
